- What is GoWeiqiBase?
- It’s a Go page — Weiqi — that opens with a real board. You place stones; a local AI answers on this device. We don’t fill this domain with a mall of other titles.
- Do I need an account before I can place a stone?
- No. No email before the first move. If another site made you register to touch the grid, that wasn’t us.
- Is this the same as chess?
- No. Different board, different goal — surround territory and capture by cutting off liberties. Western chess lives on another site entirely.
- Is Weiqi a different game?
- No. Weiqi is the Chinese name for Go. Same stones, same idea. We keep a short door at What is Weiqi.
- Can I play a stranger online?
- Not matchmaking. You play the computer here, or same-screen pass-and-play on 2 player. No lobby, no room codes.
- Does it work on my phone?
- Yes. Tap an intersection. Desktop works the same way with a mouse.
- Why start on 9×9?
- Smaller board, faster games, kinder for learning liberties. You can widen the grid when you’re ready; we don’t pretend Hard on 9×9 is a pro on 19×19.
- Is the computer running in the cloud?
- No. It thinks on your phone or laptop. Easy through Hard only change how deep it looks.
- I searched “go” and found programming results — is this that?
- No. This is the board game. We are not a Go language tutorial, and we are not Pokémon Go.
- Is there an APK or installer I should download?
- No install package. Everything runs in the browser on this site.
